music: Simple Life from Karl Kohlase's Simple Life Album
**note: leopard sharks are NOT AT ALL HARMFUL TO HUMANS, they are one of the harmless and friendly sharks, such as THE WHALE SHARKS, that you could swim with them safely, and not get harm for they DO NOT HAVE THE PHYSIOLOGICAL MAKE UP to bite nor cause harm.

Let me take a break from my Canadian Rockies vacation post to share the simple joys of my summer staycation here at home sweet home San Diego. :) I still have about 2 weeks of staycation, though of course I used some of those time preparing also for the school year ahead.

One of my simple joys in simple life is of course being out in the sea. Though this blog shares mostly hiking stuff, but my summer actually is mostly about water. :)
2014 Snorkeling here in San Diego
I love enjoying nature's gifts because it teaches me to be at peace with myself and with the world around us. Nature wanderings lead me to contentment and stopped any desires of getting material acquisition, haha. I simply could not relate to shopping therapy anymore. For me, there is so much JOY in this world beyond material adornments. If you find that joy outside of materialism and commercialism, you are bound to ENJOY SO SO MUCH THE PRICELESS JOYS OF SIMPLE LIFE! Amazingly wonderful SIMPLE LIFE!!

Let me share the lyrics of the song that I chose in my snorkeling video above, Simple Life. I love this song, because I find the words so true for me.

THE SIMPLE LIFE
Words and Music by Karl Kohlhase

Living life can be hard today, I have to say it so
But I have learned if I stop and pray
I get the grace to go.
And I have found by slowing down
I have more time to live the simple life

The simple life. All free from strife.
So glad that I have found the simple life.
Living life in the passing lane, it’s near insane to me;
‘Cause soon your life will be washed away
By the pouring rain to the sea.
But I have found by slowing down
I have more time to live the simple life
The simple life. All free from strife.
So glad that I have found the simple life.
The simple life is the way to go though the pace is slow for some,
But I’ll have peace in my heart to show
when the race of life is done.
For I have found by slowing down
I have more time to live the simple life
The simple life. All free from strife.
So glad that I have found the simple life.

The words that I love repeating again and again in the song are these two lines:
"For I have found by slowing down
I have more time to live the simple life"

And yeah, SIMPLE LIFE IS SO JOYFUL!!!! Wonderfully joyful!!! I am so glad to have met this song 2004, which showed me the way to enjoy simply.

Let me end this post by sharing with you Karl Kohlase's story behind the song, Simple Life:

STORY BEHIND THIS SONG...by Karl Kohlase

''Tis a gift to be simple... So the old hymn goes.

It is possible to have peace in the midst of today's hectic pace, but it requires some "adjustments". We need to slow down and make time for prayer and contemplation. This will likely require a re-ordering of our priorities and a letting go of some of our unnecessary pursuits and goals, but the reward is well worth it.

Jesus said, "Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you shall find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light."
Matthew 11:28-30

  9. These lines from the poem will serve as my daily reminder of what I should do: "I have found by slowing down I have more time to live the simple life": I also wish to have a world without strife.
