In the Deep Silence of My MInd

Last Thursday (8/18/2011), while sitting alone on the beach and watching the waves, somehow, I started hearing my own thoughts. Without a clean sheet of paper in my purse, I used the back of a very small receipt, and a bus schedule booklet to write down words that I heard. Words that mingled with the forceful sound of the waves.  Here is one of 2.5 compositions I had written that day. I'll share the other 1.5 later.
In the Deep Silence of My Mind
In the deep silence of my mind
Beyond the echoing of the birds
The swaying of the trees
And the splashing of the blue ocean
I see you
Arms outstretched
Inviting me to take a step
 To embrace your love
And dance with you
Happily I walked to thee
I feel the warmth of your love
As we beautifully danced
Through the cresting of the waves
That mightily splashes into the sea…
Sea of unlimited love
Beauty unimaginable
Deep in the blueness of the ocean
In the stillness of my heart
I feel your healing touch!

  17. another powerful and very moving poem from you, beth! yes, i totally agree ... it is very therapeutic indeed to be able to sit by the beautiful, blue ocean on a peaceful, lovely day, with trees swaying around you, birds flying about you and calling to each other up on high, and the sounds of gentle waves splashing on the beach. the first few lines of your poem alone, beth, painted such a pretty picture of you sitting there on the beach, lost in thought, and the way you described yourself that day drew me into the poem immediately. i am so happy for you that you are blessed to live so close to the majestic ocean. what i would give to have the same opportunity!:) i appreciate you sharing your thoughts and love for the ocean in the form of this poem that, once again, bared your soul to us. like i said, beth, keep the poems coming! you are getting better and better, and i am thrilled for you!
