Where is The Spot for Leaf Peeping in California?

Twitter
North Lake, Bishop Creek Canyon, Bishop, CA
California is not best known for its autumnal hues, as most of its forest is evergreen. It is however better known for spring wildflowers, where the otherwise dry barren land would put forth a phantasmagoric show of a million buds of wildflowers fluttering in the breeze.

Though summer is my favorite season, but I actually enjoy the gifts of each season, such as enjoying the foliage of fall. All of the seasons are magical to me, as they all bring their wonderful surprises. One of the best places to enjoy fall in California is in the Eastern Sierra.
Aspen Trees Turning Gold
Bishop Creek Canyon, Eastern Sierra
The golden hues of aspen trees become even more brilliant from the lighting of the sun and the warm Californian blue skies and calm waters.
Aspen trees are native to cold regions with cool summers, yet they require a lot of sunshine since they do not thrive very well in shade . Aspens grow in large clonal colonies derived from a single seedling. Since they are clones of one seedling, they all leaf out simultaneously during spring and also change color at the same time during fall.
If you are planning to do some leaf peeping for this year's fall in California, you can use this website: http://www.californiafallcolor.com/?tag=bishop-creek-canyon , for fall colors update at the Eastern Sierra. Usually the peak is first week of October, but all the pictures above were taken last week of September from 2 years ago.
