Cafe Well

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Cafe Well for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

~by Jeff~

We have all made and broken a New Year’s Resolution to lose weight ?  Losing weight could be easy, but keeping the pounds off is another story.  Three of my friends (Richard, Michael, and Jon) agreed 2-1/2 years ago to form a support weight loss program.   Last year two more friends (Sean and Chris) joined our weight loss support program which made it more enjoyable.  We started our diets on January 2nd.  In advance each of us sent out goal weight and timetable goals calendar for sequential loss to reach our ultimate goals.  Since we have been using the support program we have realized significant results.  We were 100% on reaching our goal weights.  As a reward we went on a trip together to a major ball game.

Losing weight requires a lot of motivation, emotional support, a little kick in the behind at times, along with praise for goals reached.  This is how our weigh loss support program operates. We weigh on our home scale each day recording the scale display with a digital picture.  We then e-mail our pictures to each other--both positive and negative comments follow.  We work together to record and share "winning" eating habits, menus, and exercise routines that work for us. and share it with the group. Every Saturday we use Instant Message to chat live about our achievements, offer support and encouragement, and provide suggestions to meet everyone's needs.  But the weight loss program is only part of what we gain from this support program as our friendship is very valuable too.

This year we discovered a program called Race to the Moon hosted by Social Network Cafe Well and sponsored by Health America. Race to the Moon is a wellness program open to members of Health America.  Non-members can also register to be a member and enjoy full features, benefits, fun challenges, discussion groups and advice from experts in this field.   The health care industry finds social networking sites like Tweeter, Facebook and others as a powerful tool to get ideas, support, and spread the message around the world or at least through our friends lists.

To be a member, one has to sign up on the social network  called Café’Well.  It is a social network that connects the member with other members in a safe and secure place to share your health care interests and needs, get advice from experts and join the fun challenges.  Café’Well exists for one reason “health,” while at the same time providing a safe place to get information about health issues, receive tips on healthy lifestyles, and challenges.

Workout challenges within our support group have been very effective for us.  This year, for a change, we signed up  with Café’Well and joined a group who share similar interests.  We are excited  with the new information we get from other members and we are looking forward to a healthier life this year.
