America's Cup In San Diego

San Diego Bay from Harbor Island
The America's Cup World Series is a series of match race regattas that would lead to the 2013 America's Cup. San Diego is the third stop in the America's Cup World Series which starts tomorrow, November 12 and will last until November 20th.
This 9-day international sail sporting competition will bring more crowds to the city. Stars of the international sailing scene are setting up shops in San Diego Bay, and a lot of people are coming down to town to watch live racing and experience what it is like to sail on a high speed catamaran. While the athletes sail in fast action, some spectators who wanted to feel the sport can take on the Racing Simulator set up on booths.
Knowing that the San Diego Embarcadero and Downtown will be crowded for sure, I am thinking of going to the same quiet spot to take pictures of the action. All the three pictures above were taken from this quiet spot, and since it is facing San Diego Embarcadero and downtown, they kind of give you an idea that my quiet spot is somewhere facing the Embarcadero. Since parking, Coffee Shops and Restaurants will surely be too crowded in downtown or even in the the nearby Little Italy and San Diego Hillcrest Area, I can also have a fill in the same quiet spot where I plan to take pictures. Rain or shine, the opening event tomorrow will surely get a lot of buzz!

  1. The picture of the skyscraper across the bay brought back happy memories when we had our first TSS mini reunion. Wish I can go back and relive it.

  2. ....makes me wish again that I could be there with you, one sweet day...
