Was it only last Saturday when I complained about our boring summer this year which only saw a few warm days? Where we only saw a few sunny and blue skies? Where I complained about not seeing sunrise and sunset much because of thick fogs that starts in the evening and last until the next morning?
Don't get me wrong, I love fogs, but I love a great deal of variety too. I love to wake up in fog one morning, and wake up with the glorious sunrise the next morning. I love it most when the two would co-exist sometimes. I love gray skies, but I love blue skies too. Our summer this year has been loaded with gray skies day after day, I was missing the blue skies by the sea. Thus, I kind of wished for late summer to even say "hi", and though it may be late, I won't hesitate to rejoice and jump into the water. Last Saturday, when the forecast was sunny, warm and clear skies, I was rejoicing for I thought I got what I wished for. It will be a glorious time at the beach! I had my wish, of enjoying my barren desert cliffs against the bluest of blue hue, yes, brown against blue!
Beach Trail, Torrey Pines State ReserveIt has been a long while since I saw a clear blue sky like this, thus, it was such a big treat last weekend to be enjoying a warm day at the beach. I was dreaming if the temperature will stay a few more days, maybe, our water temperature will warm up a little bit and I would be able to enjoy boogie boarding again. My wish come true, the water temperature today is at 65 degree Fahrenheit ( 18 degree Celsius), warmer than summer's water temperature. I should be happy, I wished for this. BUT, I got more than what I wished, the air temperature soar high, REALLY high today that early this morning I felt throbbing pain from the heat. It is not late summer that strike us, but a HEAT WAVE!! Indeed, sometimes, we do get what we wish, and more :( Now, I am looking forward for this heat wave to be over. Thankfully, it will be cooler tomorrow, but still not back to the usual cool. I wished for summer to come even though it would be late, only that I got more than what I wished for :( Now, I am thinking, do I really want a late summer?

i love that misty road!
ReplyDeleteIsn't the misty road is a little bit dangerous? LOL :D Otherwise all look beautiful. :D
ReplyDeleteI love the first photo. And how exciting that the dolphins can be seen from the cliffs.
ReplyDeleteSana nga po ay matapos na ang heat wave dyan, Ms. Betchai. Here, it's rainy season already.
It is glad to know that you love fogs too. How can we miss this great work of nature.
ReplyDeleteAnd of course I do enjoy the rest of it.
I love the fog too. I just don't like driving in it. Here it gets so foggy sometimes you really can barely see in front of your car. We have had an exceptionally hot and dry summer with lots of blue skies. Love the pics, as always.
ReplyDeleteWhat strange weather you're having! I hope you will be able to enjoy some boogie boarding. :)
ReplyDeleteWhile fog can be a pain in the neck, your photos of it are beautiful. It looks so mysterious, it makes me want to curl up with a good book.
ReplyDeleteI love your misty road and I see that you got a real scorcher going on, hopefully things will become a bit more normal for you.
ReplyDeleteEver swam with dolphins? In the wild?
Did that once - wonderful and scary at the same time!
I like the picture of the desert in the backdrop of blue sky and see. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you got your wish. During the summer, we dream of coolness. During the winter, we dream of sunny days. Bottle this weather and let it loose in January. :)
ReplyDeleteWell, I know the blue skies make more inviting days in the open, but I love that fog picture.
